BFA Thesis Show 

My work strives to draw connections between the contemporary and historical.  The synchronous and the asynchronous.  This project is a response to the frightening increase in anti-LGBT violence and legislation since the pandemic.  The oil paintings I make use the propagandistic language of European historical paintings to draw connections between contemporary drag performers modeling and LGBT history.  Alongside the baroque influenced paintings, 3d printed sculptures sourced from museum collections allude to traditions of gender and sexuality that pre-date the harsh binaries violently enforced by European industrialized powers.
